There are many laws out their to help protect people’s ideas, writing, designs and inventions.
Until recently, fashion designers could not protect their designs. But now, through the copyright office, a fashion designer can submit their design and protect it for a period of three years in accordance with the Innovation Design Protection and Piracy Prevention Act passed in 2010.
Authors can now, not only self publish through Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing, but they can also copyright their work for free using www.creativecommons.org and also by submitting FORM TX with the United States Copyright Office.
