Or maybe your going to an ugly sweater party?! I found some ugly sweaters at www.Urbanoutfitters.com. If your feeling adventurous you can even try making your own sweater! Try using ornaments, stick ons, tinsel, ribbon, and even candy and candy canes! All you would need is a sweater and a hot glue gun. Have fun and be sure to send me a picture to post of your sweater to post on the blog!
Click on the picture to read the case of the singers of Aqua and the makers of Barbie battle it out over a trademark issue!
Mattel v. MCA Records, 296 F.3d 894 (9th Cir. 2002). This one would be funny just because it’s litigation over the song “Barbie Girl,” but what really makes it notable is the author’s words to the litigants at the end: “The parties are advised to chill.”
I embarked on my 1.5 hour commute to charlotte for class at 9am. But today I had a bench memo also due at 9am. I left home early hoping to finish my conclusion once I got to school. But 30 min into my trip I was pulled over, (3 minutes after I was supposedly speeding). With no time to waste and while the cop was writing me a ticket, I got out my laptop and continued working on my paper. At 730 i got pulled over and at 740, one speeding ticket later, my car battery died. At least I made the cop work for this ticket since he had to jump my car battery! He told me to slow down, but with an hour and ten minutes left on my trip I knew that was not going to happen. At 8:40 I was still on the road, with 20 minutes left to turn in my assignment and NO Conlusion section, I called ]”my trustworthy secretary” and dictated, as any real lawyer would, my recommendation to the Supreme Court. She rapidly typed and emailed the dictation. At 8:47 I got to class, added the conclusion, quickly ran through the memo and turned in the assignment at 8:56. AND NOW im in class. Top that and I will buy you a coffee.
Wearing a cut up t shirt that hangs off your shoulder so that everyone in law school, students and professors and practicing attorneys included, can see your bra strap and tattoos on your back is not professional and appropriate for aspiring lawyers. Do you agree?
Please comment, I am interested.
